The Best of British...

Nothing pleases me more than buying British, so when given the opportunity to try out some Ronhill kit I was more than happy to.

For myself and others Ronhill has always been known for the famous 'Trackster' running pant. The man himself is a legendary Marathon runner, winning a host of gold medals at Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games and European Championships. He also set the longest running streak of 52 years, running everyday!!

Testing Ronhill running kit

NOW, specialists in a range running and fitness performance clothing. I've managed to grab some kit and put them to the test.

With new kit comes new motivation, some cracking (and some not so) Lake District weather and a couple of local races, what more do you need to get out and run!

The Stride Race Vest

is super lightweight, comfortable with a relaxed fit, perfect for racing or even the odd warmer weather training run. Also wearing the Stride Cargo Racer Short which makes the prefect combo. It's a split style short and YES it has a pocket in the rear along with 2 gel pockets and a fob pocket, for all you pocket lovers!!

For some of my training sessions I've be running in the Stride Twin 5" Short, these have taken some beating, some speed sessions and runs out on the hills. These short come with a single zip pocket in the rear which I have had my Sony phone secured in, so its roomy. The twin lay help prevent any chaff for those with slightly larger thighs, Ronhill also offers a none twin option.

Training tops

I've had a couple of tee's which have all been breathable, wicking and lightweight. My favourite was the Infinity Marathon Tee , with a slim fit and a super soft feel. It's slightly heavier due to knit fabric which makes it chaff free.

Top Layers

The Momentum Afterlight Jacket I will get more use out of the jacket during the winter runs with my club. I have worn the jacket while coaching and its super lightweight, the Activelite and reflective trim will make you seen while out on the darker evenings. The Afterlight jacket is also wind and water resistant.

Overall verdict

I'm super impressed with the Ronhill range, for me it covers everything that I need and more; lightweight, breathable, wicking, some pockets and looks great as well. It has held its own on the road and on the fells so far this, lets see how it takes to the Lake District winter.
